What's the difference between a wooden wick and a cotton wick?

A wooden wick is unique in that it's made of wood. It's not typical for candles, but once you give it a try, you'll probably never go back! It requires a bit more care - keeping the wick trimmed to approximately 1/8 inch - but it offers a cozy, crackling flame - like a miniature fireplace!

Cotton wicks are more traditional, and you see these on most candles.

What kind of wicks do you use?

For wooden wicks, I use wicks that are completely American made, being sourced and manufactured in the USA from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) - Certified mills. These wooden wicks do not mushroom, have little to no carbon build-up and no sooting.

For cotton wicks, I use flat braid cotton core wicks made from textile-grade cotton. They are designed to promote clean burning and minimize mushrooming from carbon buildup.

How do you ship your candles?

I take great care in making sure that all candles reach their forever homes in perfect condition. Each candle is wrapped in tissue paper and bubble wrap to protect both the labels and the glass. I also insulate the package very well with either peanuts or paper.

Skelly Bob is packaged in a shrink wrap bag to protect the details of his charming face. He will also be wrapped in tissue paper and bubble wrap as well.

I ship everything via USPS Priority {domestic} or First Class {international}.

If you receive your candle in less than perfect condition, be sure to contact me immediately. I can send you a new candle or refund your purchase entirely.

How long does it take for my candle to ship?

Current processing time is 1-2 weeks. I typically get orders out much sooner, but as all candles are made-to-order, please allow me a bit of time to make sure your candles are perfect!
